Tour itinerary

Day 1

10.00 a.m. depart Melbourne in luxury air-conditioned coach.  Calder Highway to Historic Maldon for lunch and good look around this fascinating township. 
Maldon is the first notable town in Victoria, and all the buildings are from the frantic gold rush period from the 1850’s.  Bendigo maintains the legacy of the Gold Rush 1851-1870.  Accommodation in a leading Bendigo motel.  Free night.

Day 2

Tour of the famous Central Deborah Gold Mine followed by morning tea at the Chinese Dragon Museum.  Tour of Pall Mall and the colourful history of the Gold Rush era.  The Bendigo Pottery is a must see attraction, discounts available.

The afternoon takes us into the vast goldfields of Central Victoria where first hand the visitors will learn the desperate plight of thousands of miners who came to Victoria looking for the Mountain of GoldLunch available in Rushworth.   At the conclusion of the rush, rural development began, with a mobile population and willingness to work against overwhelming odds, our colourful history and heritage is forged
