Flight
Tours
In conjunction with Gawne Aviation, River Country Adventours are now providing
small group (Min. 5) flight tours to some very beautiful remote places
in Australia. In addition to the "Flight to Lake Eyre" there is now a
5-day tour to Sweers Island (Gulf) for a couple of days fishing or just
lazing around this tropical paradise. Other destinations for 2-3 days
include Flinders Ranges (Wilpena), Flinders Island, Kangaroo Island, Mungo
Lodge (Walls of China) and Whitecliffs. For further information contact
Rob Asplin of River Country
Adventours.
The River
The Goulburn is still in minor flood mode. We have enjoyed good spring
rains, and all the weirs are filling. Fish are breeding and all is well.
For the next few weeks all our canoe safaris will be conducted on the
nearby Murray River at Barmah. Our main campsite at Wyuna is under water
at the moment. The old River Gums are really getting a good soaking!
Backpackers
Recently we had the pleasure of 5-young backpackers from Scotland. They
stayed a couple of nights and really did enjoy our rivers and environs.
All are in their final years of medicine, and if I ever get crook I hope
they will look after me.
Another Winner
Pam Ware from Collingwood is the latest winner for a couple of days camping
and canoeing on the Goulburn River, Pam knew early that Lake Frome is
situated in South Australia......well done Pam!
Lake Eyre Report
We have vacancies for the next tour to see Lake Eyre in flood departing
from Shepparton on October 10 for 3-days at William Creek. When the huge
lake is in flood it is one of the natural wonders of the world. More details
and bookings email us on info@adventours.com.au

Sydney or the Bush?
The Olympic Games is the greatest show on Earth. The goodwill that this
has given our nation is immeasurable. It is hoped that the millions of
people from all over the world will be planning their holidays over here,
not just to see our cities but our unique bush as well.
Cheers
for now,
