Welcome
once again to our monthly newsletter, we hope you enjoy this Christmas
Edition. Last months lucky winner of a canoeing and camping getaway on
the Goulburn River is Alison Gillingham from Albury in NSW. The answer
we were looking for a group of foxes is "Skulk" and our reference is Oxford
Dictionary and Thesaurus. Thanks to all who had a go and there is another
competition associated with this newsletter.
Christmas
Goodwill
This surely must be the best time of the year. Our thoughts turn to family
and friends and this is a great time to reflect on the past year and look
forward to good times in the year ahead. The weather in Australia is usually
hot over Christmas and I still wonder why we have roasts on Christmas
Day. There is no doubt we are blessed with our situation in the world.
We must continue to look out for each other and continue to be generous
with our time and resources. With all the strife and ill-will in the world
at the moment, we must maintain our way of life and always be extremely
proud to be Australian.
Joan
and I would like to wish all our clients and friends a very pleasant Christmas
with your families and may you enjoy a happy and rewarding New Year. Thanks
for all your support over the years, and we look forward to helping plan
your next getaway in the great outdoors, hopefully pretty soon.
Canoe
Sales
We had no idea that so many people are looking for good used canoes and
kayaks. We have been inundated with requests. If anyone knows of a used
canoe or kayak, please let us know as there seems to a huge market out
there. River Country Adventours enjoy an agency with Canoes Plus
P/L in Melbourne and can supply new canoes and kayaks. We have Dagger
"Drifter 11" double kayaks and some "Sunseeker" canoes in stock, these
would make a terrific Christmas present for yourself.
Great
Victorian Bike Ride
This year the spectacular and well organized event attracted over 4,300
riders. All ages and abilities. We conducted canoe hire on the Gunbower
Creek at Cohuna during the ride and then again at Echuca during the scheduled
rest day. Thanks to the organizers and the Visitor Information Centre
in Echuca/Moama for giving our business the opportunity of meeting so
many lovely people. Well done to all concerned.
Competition
Here is your opportunity to win a free holiday camping and canoeing on
the Goulburn at one of the Wyuna campsites. All you have to do is correctly
answer the question and your entry will go into the draw on around January
10, 2006.
Q. What is a group of swans flying called?

have expanded in Seymour and built good contacts throughout the tourism
industry. Our workload is also increasing and I had to give up being Secretary
