Welcome once again to our monthly newsletter and we hope you enjoy the
contents and have a go at the competition. The winner of last month's
competition is Hamish Kerr from Malvern East. The Eureka Flag is blue
& white, and first flew proudly over the Ballarat Gold Fields in 1854.
Since then the Trade Union movement in Australia has adopted the flag
as a symbol of the struggle for workers rights and conditions.
Up in Smoke
The following article is from the Kyabram Free Press newspaper dated July
28, 1905.
"Boys of tender years who parade the streets puffing cigarettes are
threatening with reform by an Act of Parliament with the Bill introduced
last week-No smoking under 16 years of age. However, any youth who can
produce a doctor's certificate, that smoking is beneficial to his health,
is exempted."
Amazing stuff from 100-years ago.

Jordi
the best dog in the world
My
old dog Jordi was put to sleep last week. She was 13 and had developed
a tumor on the heart which was causing plenty of problems. It is so sad
because she was my constant companion over all the time we have been in
business. So if you know anybody with Border Collie pups looking for a
loving home, please let me know.

If you don't want to receive this newsletter any more, and miss out on
the specials like the flight tour to Ceduna in S.A, please let me know.
