We welcome you once again to our newsletter, if you are getting it for
the first time, hope you enjoy and have a go at the competition. The winner
of last month's competition is Nicki Munro from Hamilton in Western Victoria.
Hamilton is the sheep capital of Victoria with green rolling hills and
thousands of contented Merinos. A Blue Gum is one of over 600 species
of eucalypt tree in Australia, and is the State tree for Tasmania. There
is a further chance to win a free holiday fishing, canoeing and camping
on the Goulburn River later in this edition.
The Four Dogs
Sounds like a beer tavern in Central Wales, but recently we had the pleasure
of arranging a 3-day canoeing safari for 4-dogs and their masters. There
is no doubt the dogs run the show when it comes to outdoor adventure.
Regular readers would recall the story a few months ago about "Lucy" the
beautiful border collie who went for 2-days down the Goulburn River in
a canoe with her people. Well Sam the 2-year old Jack Russell, Meri a
lab border collie cross, Teisha and Shaela both Staffy Crosses have outdone
Lucy by a day and some 20-km. We welcome dogs at River Country Adventours,
but we haven't got life jackets for the dogs as yet.

You can check out these dogs who are now proudly posing on our website
- in the Canoes - The Experience
section.

A
Decade of Service
River Country Adventours became a registered tourism business on
July 2, 1993. Two years later we were in the first 20-Victorian tourism
businesses that became accredited under the new scheme. On grand final
day in September 1996 our initial fleet of canoes and gear turned up and
"Canoes on the Goulburn" began . We have been conducting camping, fishing
trips and canoeing safaris along many sections of the Goulburn and Murray
Rivers ever since. We now have some canoes at the Goulburn Caravan Park
in Seymour, we are still expanding our services into other areas. Let
us help plan your next adventure into the great outdoors.
Winter
time activities
May be a bit cold for camping but the rivers are flowing well and canoeing
is a good option during the winter. Still plenty of birds about and the
hungry fish are biting. We also have winery tours
and can arrange for courtesy pick up in Melbourne for groups, and more
importantly get the group home again. Victoria has world class vineyards
within close proximity to the City. Something a bit different for groups
of 8 or more. River Country Adventours will pick you up and take
you to a country football match. Go back to grass roots footy and get
involved with the locals. Get the gang together and we can guarantee you
a fantastic day out in the country. For more details, contact Rob.
Thought
for the day
"The cost of petrol doesn't worry me..............I only ever put $10.00
worth in." Old Jack.
