Our
first newsletter was sent to 62 people on June 17, 2000, and now we are
sending to over 100 and the response has been terrific, thanks.
We
have already 2-winners from previous competitions, congratulations to
Bud Flanagan from Girgarre and Melanie Widmer from Southbank who will
both spend a couple of days canoeing and camping on the Goulburn River,
not necessarily at the same time.
Web Site
We are now having our new web site developed. The site is www.adventours.com.au
The site is being prepared by Boundless
Blue, and we are looking forward to your comments and feed back. River
Country Adventours has now joined the 21st century!
Lake Eyre Update
The huge lake situated in one the world's great arid regions, is still
holding a vast amount of water. We are arranging for 3-day flights to
William Creek. The next tour with vacancies is departing from Shepparton
on September 25. More information and bookings contact River Country Adventours
- Email: info@adventours.com.au
Good
Spring Rains
Everybody is happy about this latest rain. It has increased inflow into
the weirs, and giving the northern rivers a good flush. This will ensure
another good agricultural season and produce good breeding prospects for
the native fish. When the rivers go down, the canoeing season will begin.
Probably by the end of the month.
The
Great Outdoors
We had the crew from the popular Channel 7 show "Great Outdoors" including
Di Smith in Kyabram last week. They had come to film the canoes on the
Goulburn, but it rained and the whole thing had to be postponed. It is
hoped that the film crew can return in the near future, because we have
such a lovely river to show.
Pumas in the Hills
We are gathering lots of information on the elusive cat like creature
that has been stalking domestic animals along the Great Divide for years.
It appears that there may be something out there, and there must be more
than one! We will keep you well informed.
Competition
Another chance to win a free couple of days canoeing and camping on the
Goulburn River for the first correct answer to this poser.
In which State of Australia is Lake Frome situated?
Thanks
for your support.
