Justine Mansfield from South Yarra in Victoria is the lucky winner of
last month's competition. We enjoyed a record number of entries, and there
is a further chance to win a free weekend on the Goulburn later in this
newsletter.
Police
Strike
Industrial action in the Police Force is not a new thing. In 1923, Melbourne
Shops were boarded up during the police strike. The Victorian Government
swore-in thousands of special constables to maintain order, but not before
there had been widespread rioting and looting by opportunists throughout
the city.
"Great
Outdoors"
During the month September, Channel 7's crew from "The Great Outdoors"
will be filming a program from the Wyuna campsite on the beautiful Goulburn
River. The show should be screened prior to Christmas. We are delighted
with this opportunity to show case the canoes and the environs of the
fascinating region that we operate in. More details later.
Thought
for the Day
There are two reasons why people fail:
Don't
listen to anyone!
Listened to everyone!
Groups
Welcome
Group bookings are always available with River Country Adventours. We
specialize in tailoring tours and outings to suit most group requirements.
Courtesy collection can be arranged and tours will delve into the colorful
history and heritage of the regions visited, and we usually end up at
a winery or two. Work break ups and special occasions are catered for.
Canoeing
A real back to nature experience. River Country Adventours has a fleet
of canoes and groups are most welcome. Camping is available from various
spots along the Goulburn River or alternate accommodation can be obtained
in nearby Echuca, Shepparton of Kyabram.
Competition
For a free weekend camping and canoeing on the Goulburn, try your luck
with the answer. The first correct drawn from the hat on September 10,
will be notified.
